First day at Sussex University

Hi,

I had taken an appointment with Dr. Parimal Patel, Senior Research Fellow, working at SPRU-Scientific Policy Research Unit, Freeman Centre at 10:30am. There I met Neha Rai,  Research Fellow,  working with Dr. Patel.
After a brief conversation, Dr. Patel  took me to Jannet French – Coordinator of BMEC Research & Enterprise Unit who is a busy person these days because it is the beginning of the academic year in SU. The moment one arrives at Sussex either as a student or staff or visiting fellow like me one has to register at IT services so as to communicate with any one on the campus and to access information through university website. IT service centre created user ID for me. My e-mail ID here is r.v.gaonkar@sussex.ac.uk
All the registered users can use the computer facilities available only for study and research purposes and nothing else. If there are any IT related problems, one has to send a mail to the IT services and they attend to the same immediately.

  7. It is good to read such a detailed account. The campus looks active now. It is nice institution to benchmark ourselves in some respects. As the visit unfolds, we will know more such areas.
